Corporate Photography
Professional photographers provide corporate photography services for a variety of corporate needs — from head shots (aka mug shots) of board members for the corporation's Annual Report to product photography for advertising campaigns, event photography for corporate events, and photography for public relations and marketing purposes.
Corporate Executive Head Shots
Many photographers shudder at requests for the standard, boring mug shots of executives, but these head shots are often the bread and butter of their work. Corporate head shots are needed by corporations for many purposes: Reporters and journalists frequently request such photographs for news reportings, and executive speaking engagements often require head shots for advance publicity and event programs. These photographs are kept on file, usually by the corporate public relations department, and are sent out as needed. They should be replaced with more recent photographs on a regular basis — preferably every year, but at least every 2 or 3 years.
Unfortunately, corporate executives themselves may resent the time required for the photo shoots. The top executives in a company usually have very busy schedules, and they often consider the photos shoots a waste of their time. A good corporate photographer will work with the company to set up the studio (or other location) ahead of time, adjust the lighting, test the cameras and film, and be ready to shuttle the busy execs in, get their photos, and shuttle them out again as quickly as possible, in order to minimize the disruption of their day.
The photographer should additionally have the people skills to put the executives at ease despite their impatience, and to elicit relaxed, pleasant facial expressions for the photos.
