We bought this camera for our 5 year old son. It works great for this purpose. Simple point and shoot, no zoom and no major options. The megapixels are way better than the cameras they sell specifically for kids and it costs less. It is light weight and small, so perfect for little hands. My only concern is that it may get damaged easier than a camera designed for kids, but it has not done so yet. The camera holds about 30 pics on the internal memory and then needs to be downloaded and cleared. However, a memory card can be used to hold more pics at one time. My son has had the camera about 2 months and it is already saving us money over the cost of disposable cameras and development costs.

I bought this camera and it works wonderful. It has zoom which is a great plus. It takes great pictures which is good. One thing tho is that my computer doesn't recognize the USB cable which is fine because I have an SD card anyway. Another thing I didn't realize is that it takes AAA batteries because I didn't read the whole thing (my fault). I am thinking about buying this camera for my mom because it is fairly simple to use. It is small which is great cuz it fits in my pants pocket and the pocket on the side of my purse perfectly. I love it also because it is easy to use and it fits in the palm of my hand. I love Polaroid. I have 3 old polaroids from many years ago and if I get another camera, its going to be another Polaroid.

This is a great starter camera. We bought it for our 14 year old son to take on a trip. There were some grainy pictures but most of them came back very sharp. Polaroid's PoGo Instant Digital Camera is a 5.0-megapixel digital camera with a built-in printer announced at CES 2009, which produces 2 x 3-inch sticky-back prints in under one minute. The camera has a 3.0-inch LCD screen, an SD memory card slot for saving the pictures, and a number of picture enhancement features, like red-eye removal, image stabilization, face tracking, and smile detection. Users can also choose to print dates or file numbers on their photographs. The camera's battery charge last for approximately 20 photos before it needs to be recharged.
Digital camera with integrated printer instantly delivers full-bleed borderless images that are dry to the touch
Features automatic image quality optimization with water-resistant, tear-proof, smudge-proof and peel-off prints
Prints 2 x 3-inch borderless color images in under a minute
Print speed: 60 seconds per print, from snap to share
Accessories Included: 10 sheets Polaroid PoGo ZINK Photo Paper, rechargeable lithium-ion battery, AC adapter/charger, USB cable
We wanted to take a picture of our patients to include in their file for identification purposes. After looking at several rather expensive options we decided to try a digital camera and the Polaroid Pogo printer. It worked great for us and with the sticky back on the photo we could mount it right on the patient folder. When they announced the camera/printer combo was coming out I started watching for its availability. Just like the convenience of the original Polaroid it's point, click, print.
We have 2 of the Pogo Instant Cameras and take anywhere from 10 to 50 photos a day. Other than the paper being a little bit pricey (which is offset by not having to buy expensive hardware and supplies for alternative solutions)everything about the camera/printer is great for us - handy, easy to use, low initial cost.
I don't think I would use this camera for vacation photos but for our need it is just perfect.

I recently purchased the polaroid pogo instant digital camera and I have to say that it is one amazing device. I switched from a canon digital camera to this and I regret not having done it sooner. The camera is actually much smaller and lighter than I was originally expecting. The picture quality is pretty amazing. I use the camera to take pictures of my mom's agriculture and the various growth status of her vegetation. The pictures come out amazing and the instant pictures are the best part. I can print the pictures out instantly and scrapbook it. I bring the camera everywhere!
Also, I am planning on purchasing the fujifilm instax mini 25 within the next month or so. I will write another review comparing the two cameras.

This is a lovely camera. My teenage daughter loves it. And she is very "picky" about certain items, especially electronics. Before I buy anything online, I read the customer reviews. As always their are mixed reviews, but more good than bad. Some of the bad reviews stated that the camera would not "sync" to their computers. My daughter had this problem due to an oversight when following the instructions. When we took it slow and performed the "sync" instructions correctly, the camera linked to the computer without a problem. Just a little patience can carry you a long way. I would DEFINITELY recommend this product. Thanks again, Amazon.

You could get a much better camera for $60-80, but I wanted the cheapest "adult looking" simple-to-use camera for my kid in case he lost or broke it as it's his first digital camera. It takes decent pictures and video, better than his phone. Simple interface he figured out w/o the manual. If you don't have a card reader, then the usb cable option works fine. For XP and above, you don't need any SW driver. If he gets into taking pictures, then I'll buy him another camera with optical zoom and more advanced features.

Inexpensive camera for kids

We received this 3.0 Megapixel camera as a gift for our 4 year old's birthday. She wanted a camera, but the reviews on the cameras marketed specifically for kids didn't look so great. This way she has her own camera so I don't have to worry about her dropping my $300+ camera when she wants to take pictures. The display screen is adequate. It didn't look like the flash was working at first so I had to take it into a dark closet to try it out, but then worked fine. There are 6 buttons on the back of the camera: MENU, MODE and one to move UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT as indicated by arrows which was easy for me and my child to figure out without reading the camera's instruction booklet. This camera uses 2 AAA batteries and it eats batteries. We've had to replace them once a week and my child uses the camera every 2-3 days so we'll look into getting rechargeable batteries. There's a simple switch on the side to move from "Mountain" to "Flower" mode. USB plug in on the side. We used an SD 1GB card we had laying around and it works great. The cover for the SD compartment is rubber and just lifts away while being connected on one side so not too impressed with that. The color of the camera was true to monitor color which was great since my child loves purple. Did not come with a camera strap, but has a place to put one. Has a space on the bottom for tripod (not included).
Overall: Easy to use for both child and adult. I would recommend it for children rather than adults since I think it's rather simple.

I waited too long to replace the old Fuji 1.5 mega pixel camera I bought in Japan in 1999 for $99. The Polaroid I-1036 is far cheaper but it was worth waiting for. It's amazing how far the technology has come in just 10 years and how small, powerful and reliable they can make these things. The Polaroid I1036 is very small but has a lot of power and capability packed into its tiny frame. Its functions are simple and even menu navigation is simple on it. It's controls and indicators are very logically arranged so the average person could operate it without even reading the manual. In auto mode it shines. It quickly adjusts settings and quickly processes the picture so you may take another. All the enhancements and features that have been developed over the last 15 years in digital cameras seem to be there. It will record video with audio and saves it to an SD high capacity card as a .Wmv file, so it `s video format can be uploaded to YouTube or LiveLeak.. I also bought a small Polaroid Zink PoGo printer that connects easily to any camera and prints very good small photos. This Polaroid camera is feature packed, high resolution, takes great videos and seems reliable and rugged. The kind of camera you keep in your car or take with you to record anything worth taking a picture or video of!

I was looking for a pocket-sized camera to replace a larger camera which, I was told, would cost $250 to repair due to a faulty battery pack. Came across this Polaroid i1036, compared it with other similar cameras, and decided that this was a great buy. When received, I put it through all the paces, testing it under all sorts of conditions which had given me problems with previous digital cameras; it passed all the tests. It starts up very speedily; it takes pictures without any delay; the functions are easy to understand; it's hard to believe that such a great camera could be manufactured at this price! I love that I'm able to toss it into my trousers pocket (or even in the pocket of my jacket) and take it with me wherever I go. The only problem I have is that, as a 6 footer, my hands are rather larger, which means that my big fingers have a tendency to miss the "on" button; but I can live with that mini-problem. Probably I'll eventually catch on concerning how to turn it on properly. Certainly 10 megapixels are more, more than I'll likely ever need.

I bought this for my 7 year old. He figured out to use it mostly by himself. On the product description it says it takes Triple AAA batteries, but it actually takes double AA. He loves the video mode, but wishes it has sound. This camera has no Mic. I think for the price this is a great camera to buy for a child to start out with. Things I like about it are that you have an expandable card slot so he can take tons of pictures, and it has a nice big screen on the back for him to watch what his is filming or taking a photo of.
I wanted a digital camera, but I also wanted one that had the color on it so I knew that it was mine. The camera has great zoom and it is easy to transfer the pictures to the computer. The flash on this camera disappointed me though, it doesn't do great taking pictures at night even set on night mode, and once you take a picture using the flash it has like a 10 second hesitation before you can take another picture with the flash again. This camera works for me, but if you are wanting something for night or fast paced picture taking like sports, this isn't your camera.

I got this camera this past weekend, and I love it. The pics are crisp, the design is sleek, and it's fun to shoot with. I'm excited to give the underwater function a try (with the appropriate kit, of course), and the settings are really useful for a variety of scenes. The only downside is that I had to buy a Memory Stick, which was a little difficult to find. Also, it was a bit expensive (25$ for 2G). However, this price included a memory card adapter, so I didn't have to buy a new card reader for my computer. All in all, I think this is a great camera!

Pictures come out OK, but you have to adjust the settings in order for them to come out not looking yellow... the automatic setting doesn't work the best, like I said you need to adjust the settings yourself... and you should wait like 30 seconds before snapping the picture because the camera takes that long to adjust to the lighting in the room; you can actually see it adjusting on the screen, looking less and less yellow. Haven't had pictures developed yet, but on the screen they look pretty good and overall for the price, it's not a bad camera at all.

I will admit that I didn't research this product thoroughly before I bought it. I wanted a cheap digital camera for my 1st grader and thought the kid cameras were too "babyish" looking for him. I thought he'd like the sleek blue grown-up look. And he did. But between opening it yesterday morning and when he went to bed, we changed the batteries 3 times. Kind of annoying. The camera also got stuck once in some kind of busy loop, and I had to restart it by popping out the batteries. Of course the Polaroid support site is useless for trouble-shooting problems. The pictures were easy enough to download to my Mac and iPhoto. Not sure positively about the picture quality: I'm fairly sure my son got off of auto focus at some point. The viewfinder's picture is somewhat grainy, so it's hard to tell if the resulting picture is a good one or not.
All in all, my son loves this camera and it is easy enough to use. That is all I wanted from it, and that's all I got.

"You can start shooting the minute you pull the a544 by Polaroid out of the box."
Um... yeah, but what you're shooting is likely to be really fuzzy. The shutter speed is slower than expected, leaving the unit particularly prone to jitter. The zoom is awkward to use and nowhere near as useful as you'd think. It also had some unexpected 'quirks', like the unit blanking the memory card when you unhook it from your computer whether you'd copied the files off or not. The red-eye correction is a joke.
This unit was bought for my niece for a photography course she's taking in high school. As such, it meets the requirements, but it's simply not a unit that'll have a lot of usefulness after the course is over. I honestly expected more, and was disappointed in this unit. It's cute, but cute doesn't cut it.
